The Mission

          As an elementary school student, I struggled with phonics. This created a domino effect for me. I was a slow reader, I was a horrible speller, and I was limited in vocabulary. Fortunately my parents and teachers supported my attempts to improve these skills, and now I excel in Advanced Placement English classes in high school.

           Looking back on how difficult it was for me to read, I wanted to find some way to help prevent young students from going through the same struggle. I knew that these students had to develop good reading habits in order to overcome their difficulties. To accomplish this goal, I worked out a plan with both private and public schools in the Las Vegas area to bring Einstein into the classroom. The students would sit with Einstein and "show off" their reading skills to him. We were making reading fun for the kids in a different way. Thus started the "Einstein Project".
